TV Presenter, Auctioneer and Chartered Surveyor

With many years experience as a professionally qualified auctioneer and valuer of antiques and fine art John joined the popular BBC1 television series Cash In The Attic as an Expert Presenter during the 5^th series in 2004. The show has proved both successful and very popular with all age groups and having remained a regular on the show since 2004 John is currently busy filming series 14 that will include various “Celebrity Episodes.” During this time John’s co-presenters have included Gloria Hunniford, Angela Rippon, Jenny Bond, Lorne Spicer, Ben Fogle and Alistair Appleton.

John has also appeared on BBC's Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is and this year (2010) will be running the London Marathon for Cystic Fybrosis

John is a graduate of Fine Art Valuation and is also a qualified member of both the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Fine Arts), and the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers. He has written numerous articles, features and columns on Antiques & Collectables, for the “Portsmouth News” and “Hampshire Chronicle,” and is now Antiques correspondent for the Hampshire edition of “ETC Magazine.”

In 2006 John wrote and presented an instructional DVD entitled “Auctions Made Easy” where he explains the protocol and procedures for buying and selling at auction. In addition to his regular television appearances and running a valuation and auction practice on the south coast John’s after-dinner auctioneering skills and knowledge are regularly called upon for charity events, associations and private talks.
