Eric "Monster" Hall

The Agent

Eric Hall was a key mover in the pop music business of the 60's and 70's, working with artists such as Queen, Elton John, Paul McCartney and the Sex Pistols. He later moved into the football world, becoming an agent for a number of high-profile footballers and managers including Dennis Wise and Terry Venables. Probably best known for his PR tactics and big money wheeler-dealing when he was a football agent, Eric previously had a long and extraordinary career in show business promotion. After selling football club rosettes for his uncle, he got a job as a record company tea boy along with the young Reg Dwight - later to become Elton John. He moved through the record business to become head of promotion at EMI and for many years mixed with the stars. He had a hit song written about him by Freddie Mercury, had dinner with Marc Bolan on the night of his death, and persuaded Malcolm McLaren to put the Sex Pistols on the Today Show. He is now on BBC Essex every Sunday between 3pm and 6pm Things you might want to know about Eric ! :- Starsign: Star David Grew up in: Shoreditch, East End of London 1st Job: Packing parcels at Mills music in Denmark street London with Elton John 1st Kiss: No 1 Old Nicholls Street, Shoreditch from my lovely parents 1st Car: Renault or it was quite old anyway 1st Ever Record: 1st record I ever heard was Leo Fuld 'Where can I go' When I was a child I wanted to be: A man!
